Political Journey 

Shivakumar started politics when he was very young. He was just 18 years old in 1981 when he joined politics. He joined the NSUI, which is the student wing of the Indian National Congress party. This was the start of his long journey. He worked very hard as a student leader. He became the Bengaluru district president of NSUI. Later, he became the general secretary of Karnataka Youth Congress. He did all this while he was still studying in college.
